The age of knights, castles, and crusades — from the early Dark Ages through to the Wars of the Roses and the Hundred Years' War.

Warmaster Revolution is a fabulous 10mm game covering the medieval period and beyond. The ruleset is free to download and has a strong following at the club.

Pike & Shotte 1500–1700

The era of the Renaissance, the English Civil War, and the Thirty Years' War — when gunpowder began to reshape the battlefield alongside pike blocks and cavalry.

Gunpowder Era 1700–1900

Covering the Napoleonic Wars, the American Civil War, and the colonial conflicts of the 19th century — an era of muskets, artillery, and colourful uniforms.

Regularly Played

A ruleset covering the American Civil War by Sam Mustafa. A campaign is currently running at the club using this ruleset.

Another popular American Civil War ruleset at the club. This ruleset has stood the test of time and has a loyal following.

Dead Man's Hand is a western skirmish game set in the Wild West, with a very polished set of rules that makes it easy to pick up.

The Great War — trench warfare, the Western Front, and the dawn of modern industrial conflict.

WW2 1939–1945

The most popular period at the club. From North Africa to Normandy, there are several strong rulesets to choose from and plenty of opponents to find.

Regularly Played

Bolt Action is a very popular World War 2 skirmish game and has been a regular at the club for many years, with most members familiar with the rules.

Another popular World War 2 ruleset at the club. Its popularity waxes and wanes but it has a good following at the club.

An operational level World War 2 ruleset released in October 2024 by Sam Mustafa. It was one of the Night Owls demonstration games at FIASCO 2024.

Moderns & Cold War 1945–present

The Cold War gone hot and beyond — ultra-modern armour, mechanised infantry, and the threat of nuclear escalation.

Regularly Played

Team Yankee is set during a mid-1980s Cold War gone hot scenario. Made by Battlefront, the makers of Flames of War — if you know one, you'll pick up the other easily.

Fantasy & Sci-Fi

Not all battles are historical! The club also plays a range of fantasy and science fiction games alongside the historical periods above.
